We were happy to mark the beginning of construction on our roof and cupola project, today, after some weather delays. The north half of the roof has been completely installed, and the cupola is ready to be loaded onto a boom lift tomorrow afternoon. Our deep thanks and gratitude to all those who generously donated to help make this project possible. A few photos from today’s work can be found on our Facebook page, here.

Metropolitan Tikhon Visits St. Andrew’s
On Sunday, March 11, our parish was honored to host His Beatitude, Tikhon, Archbishop of Washington and Metropolitan of All America and Canada, who is visiting parishes on Long Island during this Great Lent this year. Assisting His Beatitude as he led us in the celebration of the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy were Archdeacon Joseph Matusiak and Subdeacon Mark Federoff, whose assistance was invaluable in the prayerful and graceful service. Following the Liturgy, His Beatitude led the faithful in venerating the Holy Cross, and shared a festive lenten meal with all. Photos of the visit may be viewed here. (Many thanks to our photographer, Edna Fetkowitz.)
Sunday of Orthodoxy Celebrated
Our parish was honored and blessed to host our neighboring parishes of Holy Trinity Church (East Meadow), St. John the Theologian Church (Shirley), St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (West Babylon) and the Monastery of St. Dionysios (Setauket) for the Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers. Thank you to all who joined us to serve, sing, feast, and pray!
Memory Eternal: +George Mihopoulos

With great sadness, we learned that our brother +George Mihopoulos reposed in Our Lord today, February 16, at the age of 98.
Together with his beloved wife +Helen, George was a fixture of our community for decades, and though in recent years we saw George less frequently, when we did, the meeting was always full of joy. Visiting him at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Kathryn & Joseph Lattuca, who diligently cared for him and attended to his every need, we could see that his mind was sharp, his trademark humor had not faded, and that he patiently bore his struggles with beauty and grace. We remember fondly our celebration of his 95th birthday, photos of which can be found here.
Celebrating the Chrismation of the Romeos
On Sunday, October 1, the feast of the Protection of the Theotokos, we rejoiced in the reception into the Holy Orthodox Faith five newly-illumined: Helen, Julia, Nicholas, Anthony, and Matthew. We celebrate with you and look forward to praying with you and laboring with you in Christ’s vineyard. Many years!
