Memory Eternal: +George Mihopoulos

With great sadness, we learned that our brother +George Mihopoulos reposed in Our Lord today, February 16, at the age of 98.

Together with his beloved wife +Helen, George was a fixture of our community for decades, and though in recent years we saw George less frequently, when we did, the meeting was always full of joy. Visiting him at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Kathryn & Joseph Lattuca, who diligently cared for him and attended to his every need, we could see that his mind was sharp, his trademark humor had not faded, and that he patiently bore his struggles with beauty and grace. We remember fondly our celebration of his 95th birthday, photos of which can be found here.

The funeral arrangements are as follows:

Wake
Monday, February 19
2:00pm – 4:00pm and 7:00pm – 9:00pm
O. B. Davis Funeral Home (Directions)
A memorial service (parastas/panikhida) will be served at 3:00pm.

Funeral
Tuesday, February 20
9:30am, here at St. Andrew’s (Directions)
The burial will follow at Pinelawn Cemetery.

Our parish family grieves with Kathryn and Joseph and their entire family, and together we prayerfully hold up +George before Our Lord at his repose. May his memory be eternal!
