With sadness but with hope in the Resurrection, we share the news that +Barbara Drillock fell asleep in the Lord this morning, June 9, 2026. Barbara is the wife of Reader David, and many of us have come to know them as last year they relocated to a new home near St. Andrew’s, and have been attending services and singing in the choir at our parish. Shortly after Pascha, Barbara’s illnesses increased and she began hospice care. Fr. John was able to visit her on Sunday evening to pray with her and anoint her with Holy Unction.
Barbara was a devoted supporter of, and participant in, her beloved husband’s ministry in the Orthodox Church in America – as the long-time choir director at Saint Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, and Chair of the OCA’s Department of Liturgical Music and Translations. We offer our sincere condolences to David and his family. The arrangements for Barbara’s funeral are as follows:
Friday, June 12
3:00 – 6:30 PM: Visitation
7:00 PM: Funeral Service
at Three Hierarchs Chapel at St. Vladimir’s Seminary, Crestwood NY (Directions)
Saturday, June 13
9:00 AM: Memorial Divine Liturgy followed by a litya, at Three Hierarchs Chapel.
Burial will follow at St. Tikhon’s Monastery, South Canaan, PA (Directions)
