About Our Parish

St. Andrew’s Church was founded in 1966. All of our services are in English.

We are a parish of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA), which is under the spiritual direction of the Holy Synod of Bishops, led by His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, Archbishop of Washington and Metropolitan of All America and Canada. We are within the OCA’s Diocese of New York & New Jersey, under the archpastoral guidance of His Eminence, the Most Reverend Michael, Archbishop of New York, and the Diocese of New York & New Jersey.

Our rector is Archpriest John Klingel. Fr. John has been involved with our parish since 1994, as an assistant priest. On September 6, 2001, he was appointed Acting Rector by the late Archbishop Peter of New York & New Jersey, and subsequently, on November 1, 2002, was appointed Rector. Since 2008, our choir has been led by Reader Lasha Kvetenadze.

We are not a “Russian Orthodox” or “Greek Orthodox” parish. As part of the OCA, our community is filled with members from diverse backgrounds, and we strive to create a parish with an American character.

We invite you to learn more about our parish, and more importantly, to experience Orthodoxy first hand by visiting our parish – you are always welcome! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

St. Andrew’s is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit religious organization, incorporated in the Town of Huntington.

  1. I came upon your website and see I missed the 45th anniversary. So belated congratulations from Lydia and me. We were members of the parish from 1967 to 1970 with Father John S.

  2. Dear Father John and Parishioners of St Andrews, It is wonderful to see all that has happened at St Andrew’s since Mary and I left the area in May. So many wonderful events and blessings! Mary and I did not have the opportunity to say good bye to everyone and wanted to let the parish know that our 13 plus years at St. Andrew’s was a very special time for us and we will truly miss everyone. God blessed us with the opportunity to share our friendship and faith with a wonderful group of people who will always hold a very special place in our hearts. We will continue to stay updated through the St. Andrew’s web site and look forward to seeing the continued wonderful fellowship at the parish. Mary and I send our love to the St Andrew’s Parishioners. God grant the St. Andrew’s Parish many years!
    Love Mary and Ed Haddad
